Mental Health
Mental health is a serious issue. It not only effects the world but the church as well. Mental health can be depression, suicidal thoughts, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, multiple personality disorder, and etc. We don’t like to talk about mental illness in the church, but it is there. Because when we come to Christ we come as we are and our as we could be with mental illness. We know some things come out only by fasting and prayer. (Matthew 17:21) That is true in order to get free but how do I stay free? I was the person in the church clapping my hands, dancing, praying, and still depressed. Still walking around in darkness, when the light (Jesus) was so close. I had to get to place where the word was activated. Reading the word is good, but if you do not apply it. It is like having a million dollars in the bank, but
you are still unable to by a hamburger. I have to get the money out the bank in order to use it. You have to get the word of God out of the bible and place it in your heart and obey it. “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” (1 Corinthians 10:5) You have to cast down things that come to your mind that are not of God. God will never tell you to hurt yourself or hurt someone else, so you have to put that out of your mind. When it goes out of your mind you have to then replace it with something else. Philippians 4:8 says Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. These are the things we need to think on. We know that our minds are a battlefield. The enemy is always trying to take it over. Protect it at all costs. Make sure if you are experiencing any mental health issues you seek out help from godly counsel. People you can trust. God has given you us the tools we need to overcome mental illness. So please make good use of them. Be blessed!
