Resurrection - A Poem
I think of the lashes He took for me
In all it was thirty-six plus three
Nailed both hand and feet
Catani tails ripped His meat
Crown of thorns placed on His head
His face covered in blood red
Despised and rejected by men
Aquatinted with grief
He could have called in a legion of Angels for relief
But He didn’t
Love made Him strong
Humility made Him pure
And death He was sure
They pierced His side and He heard all their laughs
They didn’t add up the cost, they didn’t do the math
because if they did, they would have known The one that sent the one that left the one
Equals three
The Holy Trinity
He brought redemption for you and me
they put Him in a grave
but death couldn’t behave
He laid there dreaming of you, you, you, and me
Love filled his veins and he got up in victory
He has all power in heaven and in earth
He walked the earth
with flesh and bone there was no blood,
because it was the cost for our wrong
now we have power over every situation
aren’t you thankful for the resurrection
