Salvation/Sinner's Prayer
Salvation
Salvation is the deliverance from sin and its consequences, believed by to be brought about by faith in Christ. We can only be saved through Christ Jesus. Romans 10:9-10 says that “if you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Christ Jesus redeemed us through his blood that was shed on the cross. God loved us so much that he sent his son, to put us back in right standing with him. There was no other person qualified to do it. We fell from God’s grace because the choice we made to sin, but God being so merciful and full of grace had a plan put in place for us to have righteousness imputed to us. The sinner’s prayer is a term for a prayer that is said when someone wants to repent of their sin, ask God for forgiveness and state belief in the life, death, and saving resurrection of Jesus Christ, but it doesn’t stop there. We have to ask God to fill us with the Holy spirit. The Holy Spirit is a gift from God, that is given freely. The Holy Spirit is what leads and guides us into all righteousness. Salvation is not just a one-time thing and we are done. We have to continue to pray, read our word (Bible), get in the presence of the Lord, be lead by the Holy Spirit, and surround our selves with Godly people and etc. If you want to be saved you can repeat this prayer, but you have to believe it in your heart.
Sinner’s Prayer
Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. I repent of my sins and ask you to forgive me. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen.
